Get to Know Me…

About Me

  • As the son of a Division 1 Basketball coach, I have been around the game since I was born. My father, Jay Smith, is an Assistant Coach for the Eastern Michigan University Men’s Basketball Team and has been coaching college basketball for 38 years, so basketball is in my blood. Growing up around the game I learned the importance of consistent, hard work and the rewards it can bring. My passion for the game was sparked being involved in my father’s practices, games, shoot-arounds, and film sessions. I believe I wasn’t put on this Earth just to put a ball through a hoop, my purpose is to help others, and basketball is how I do it!
